Sneak Peek

I have been kindly reminded lately that I have not posted any pictures of the new house and that there are people out there who would actually like to see it, so here's a sneak peek!  It's not much, but there will be more to come once I can find 5 more minutes to snap some pictures (or actually, get my dad to snap some pictures!)  It is definitely a work in progress, but it was totally move in ready, and all of the things we want to do in the near future are either minor cosmetic things like changing paint colors, or adding more decorative stuff to rooms.  Mr. Dave Ramsey that I live with has me on a strict schedule of when I will be able to do these other things, but you can get the general idea of what our home looks like for now! :)

We are in desperate need of some patio furniture.  Definitely on our "To Do" list!

LAINEY'S BEDROOM

Lazy me has decided to keep her walls the same green they were when we moved in.  Ultimately they will be painted blue and the trim will be painted white, but I just decided to do green, reds, and pinks in her room for now.  Her bedroom furniture was actually my mom's when she was a child, and then my set as a child, so it is in desperate need of a facelift this summer!  Lainey's room is no where near complete, but she's sure loving it for the time being!

This is her "libary"

LAINEY'S/HALL BATHROOM
Not really easy to get a good picture of this bathroom. On the opposite side is a toilet and her bath/shower.

Our kitchen is here to the right of the dining room. These doors lead out to our upper deck.

See?  Not much of a sneak peek, but a sneak peek nonetheless!  More house pictures coming soon!

Easter Fun

Easter has always been a big deal in my family.  I have grown up in the church, and I have spent my whole life looking forward to this special Sunday each year where everyone seems to gain a fresh outlook on their faith.  I love everything about Easter weekend--the special church services, the songs that we always sing, the big, delicious meal...even the secular traditions like egg hunting, the Easter Bunny, and Easter baskets.  I remember hunting eggs in our yard as a kid, and I couldn't wait until I had the opportunity to do this with Lainey.  We finally had the opportunity this year with our new house!  The Easter Bunny came and hid eggs while she was napping, and we headed to the backyard when she woke up.  (And yes, you will notice my child in long pants and a turtleneck--ah the joys of living in Nebraska!)  She had the absolute time of her life!  She ran around and just giggled the whole time!  Warning--lots of pictures next...

We were bad and just laughed and laughed at her trying to get this egg.  I think Nana eventually helped her out!

The next pictures are from Easter Sunday.  It was still cold today, but we dealt with it for cute pictures, ha!  I couldn't decide exactly what she was going to wear today, but my decision was made when I came across a picture of me on Easter when I was three.  I was wearing a pink dress and pink shoes, so we only thought it appropriate that she should wear the same!

Happy Easter!!

Soccer Mom

So it's official...I am now a soccer mom.  Well, a soccer mom minus the minivan!  We wanted to get Lainey involved in some extracurricular activities, so our options for this age are soccer and cheerleading.  We asked Lainey what she wanted to do, and she said cheerleading...obviously we decided to do soccer first!  We'll save the other for it's proper season-fall!  Anyways...

Lainey is on a team with six other 3 year olds.  They are the Mighty Kicker Jaguars, and are one of the most entertaining sights I have had in awhile!  I don't think there was a single kid today who did not shed some tears or throw some sort of fit...Lainey included!  She was coaxed into playing with the promise of a treat after it was over.  Thank you Coach Scott for the promise of twinkies and juice!  We'll see how next week goes.  I'm trying to figure out how you teach your 3 year old (who in every other situation is taught to share) that it is okay, and actually encouraged, to take the ball away from the other kids!  Any tips would be greatly appreciate! :)

She's not exactly the best player yet, but she clearly looked the best!

Pointing to our goal

LOVE this one!!

I Think I Can, I Think I Can...

Ok so I think I'm getting inspired to try to keep up with this blog a little better thanks to my friend Beth.  I need to make it a priority to write down these fun memories we are making because God knows I don't remember much! :)
