Sneak Peek

So a girl I used to teach with has taken up photography as a side job.  She emailed me asking if she could use my girls to practice with, and of course I gladly accepted...especially when she mentioned doing a 4th of July theme!  Here's a few from our shoot today.  I love these sweet girls...especially when dressed in patriotic gear!!!! :)

**Side note on this one...She completely pulled herself up.  She is freaking standing in this bucket!  I about fell out!

Father's Day

We celebrated Jovan's sixth Father's Day today.  I'm one of those people who feel that you become a mom or dad as soon as you find out your preggers, so we definitely celebrated Mother's and Father's Days when I was pregnant, and have continued ever since! :)

Jovan's what we like to refer to as a "girl dad".  Not that he wouldn't be a great father to a boy, but he was meant to have girls!  He's so patient and will when Lainey want to play princesses, he's learned to be pretty decent at fixing hair, and he shows his girls how they are to be treated by men when he takes them on dates.  He spoils them silly, and to be honest, I'm kind of okay with that.  I'm a Daddy's Girl, and I want my girls to have that same relationship with their dad.  Lainey and Lilly are truly blessed to that God chose Jovan to be their dad!

**We must have been really busy for Father's Day 2010, because I have no pictures to document it!  Come to think of it, that was a few weeks before we moved across the country...that might explain it!

Summer Time

Summer is here, and I love it!  The best decision I made was to not teach summer school this year.  It's given me time to enjoy my summer so far and really enjoy our girls.
We went to our first arena football game last weekend.  My brother's college roommate and bff, Joe, plays for the Sioux City Bandits, so we went to see them play the local team here.

Lainey wanted to take this picture.  Goobers!
We've been hanging out a lot at home and playing in the backyard.  This picture cracks me up because Lainey is actually having a good time, and Lilly looks about ready to kill someone.  Can you tell who her daddy is?!? :)

We've also gone on a lot of outings whether that be to the zoo, shopping, or to the park.
Met up with some of my teacher friends and their kids for a zoo day!

I LOVE SUMMER!!!

Halfway to a Year!

Six months!  What a fun age!  I'm pretty sure I tell Jovan on a daily basis that I want to freeze time right now.  I love the ages the girls are, and I love the ages we are, so I'd like to just stop here forever.  But seeing as that is not possible, I'll just try to enjoy every moment right now and look forward to what's to come!

Here's what's going on in Lilly's world these days:
•Lilly weighs 15lbs. 9 oz. She's in the 42nd percentile for weight.  She is 25 3/4 in. which is the 50th percentile, and she has an average head too.  Lainey weighed 17lbs. 4 oz. and was 25.5 in. at this age.  Crazy!
•Lilly is a lot more vocal these days.  She is always making raspberries, and she has added "da da da" to her vocab.

•Lilly is still in her crib, but of course she gets spoiled if she decides to wake up.  She usually can make it all night in her crib, but we let her sleep with us if she decides to wake up.  I keep saying that maybe this summer we will break her of that habit, but I will be real...I don't see that happening anytime soon.  Especially with me going to the gym a couple days a week at 5:30 in the morning! :)

•Lilly is up to 8 oz. bottles. We are still working on this cereal thing, but we get to start food now, so I think we'll ditch the cereal!  We tried peas today, and she thought they were okay.  Here's to getting in a food schedule!

•Lilly is wearing size 3 diapers. She's wearing 6 month clothes, and she can fit !

•Lilly started crawling on Friday night.  She's army crawling, but crawling none the less.  We are officially in that stage where you cannot leave ANYTHING on the floor.  She wants to get into everything!  She can sit supported, and will sit independently for short stints at a time.

  • Lilly also got her two bottom teeth this month.  It's been a big month for us!

Attempting to take a picture of a constantly moving baby can be extrememly frustrating.  Good thing she's so cute!

And as always, love the comparisons!  Lainey two days shy of 6 months
