Pumpkin Patch--Take 1

 

We have a great pumpkin patch about 10 minutes from our house.  It has become a tradition for our little family to go every year.  We are huge dorks!  We look forward to the day Vala's opens, and we might just be a little giddy when we get there!  Like Silver Dollar City, there is nothing just absolutely amazing about this place, but we love the "old timey" feel and the fact that our girls love this place and we have great memories here.  Last night was our first of a few more trips to come!

They have these giant "pillows" that the girls (and everyone else) LOVE to jump on.  I get a little weary of the amount of people on there, but I went out and jumped anyway.  Both girls had a blast and can't wait for the next trip.

I think one of the things I love the most about Vala's is the "photo ops".  I am that special kind of dork who looks forward to pictures with Santa until they are grown and married, first day of school pictures, and the same pictures at Vala's measuring their height every year, haha!

Totally Random Post

Here are a couple totally random pictures from our last few weeks...

Every morning the girls come into our room to get ready, and they always come cuddle in the bed.  This particular morning they both fell back asleep in this sweet position!

We do this thing called Outdoor Ed here.  I did it in my old district, and I still get to do it in my new district.  The difference is my new district is WAY more fun, haha!  Our kids got to do this high ropes course, and I jumped at the chance to do it as well!  This is SO different than when I tried this 4 years ago.  I was terrified then (and a good 40 lbs. heavier), but this year I scaled it like a champ!  True Ninja Warrior style!

Jovan and I got a weekend to ourselves recently.  We spent it at a friend's birthday party one night, doing whatever we wanted the next day, and then going out to a bar to watch the Huskers play.  I NEVER thought I would get this man in red, but apparently ten years has done our marriage good!

This was my view running one night.  We are blessed to have this great lake by our house, so it is my normal running spot.  We had to capture this beautiful sunset the night of my longest run--I finally completed 6 miles, haha!  Good times!

Lainey is 7!

Our big first grader turned 7 a few weeks ago.  Seeing as I started a new job this year, I wasn't too into throwing a big ta do, so we made it an intimate affair.  Lainey invited two of her besties for an afternoon of cupcakes, Build a Bear, and Mexican food!  The girls had an absolute blast, and I must say that was the most stress-free party ever!  There's something to be said about small parties, but I'm not going to lie...I kind of missed the planning and prepping of a big affair! Guess we'll have to do that for Lilly's 3rd! ;-)

We love you so much, sweet girl!  You constantly keep us laughing, and there have been so many times lately where we have just looked at you in awe when we think of what an amazing young lady you are growing into.  Love you much!
