A little catch up

Story of all of our lives...we are busy!  Not going to lie...last week I was THRILLED when we had this absolutely awful thunderstorm because I knew soccer would be cancelled and we would have one night at home!  I couldn't tell you exactly what all we've been doing, but I do know it is always a lot!

I am really loving my new school and new staff.  I was in desperate need of a change, and so far, everything has been fairly smooth sailing!  Our principal and secretary put on an "Amazing Race" every year...and by every year I mean this was the second one because the school has only been open for two years. :)  We were all put on teams with people we wouldn't normally be around, so it was a great chance for a little staff bonding.  We were sent on tasks to find clues all over the town of Elkhorn and west Omaha.  My team was the black team, so we decided on pirates for our theme.  I had such a great time with these ladies!

We are in the midst of football season, and I couldn't be happier...well maybe except for when my girls wear orange.  Guess I have to throw Jovan a bone every so often, haha!

Not feeling pictures

And then yelling "Go Huskers!" at the top of her lungs!

And then this past weekend we went and celebrated my grandpa's 90th birthday!  How amazing!  He is such a neat man and has so many cool life stories to tell!  So glad we got to spend another birthday with him!

Ten Year Anniversary Pictures

We celebrated our 10 year anniversary on August 14th.  I had to be at my new school for Curriculum Night on our actual night, and then our babysitter cancelled for our date night, but we finally did get a dinner date at one of our favorite restaurants downtown.  We had a great time!

Somewhere along the way I got this crazy idea to retake our wedding photos.  Facebook is flooded constantly with these amazing wedding pictures, and I couldn't help but think about how different pictures were ten years ago.  Don't get me wrong, we had the best of the best in Memphis take our pictures, but having the best just means that we had really great group shots and individual shots with each wedding party member.  We realized we did not take one picture outside!  In addition to wanting pictures with the feel of "today's" pictures, these pictures served as a kind of a renewal for us.  My friend Sarah took them, and I was very pleased with how they turned out.  And unlike the first time, there was no pressure, no reception to rush to, no one to answer to...just the two of us having a good time!  Can't wait to see what our 20 year pictures look like! ;)

I had this vision of a picture down here with Omaha in the background to show where we are at 10 years.  Love how it turned out!
