February Wrap Up

February was spent mostly indoors...with the exception of running.  I officially started training for my first half this month, and boy has the weather been a challenge. But not as much of a challenge as the thought of running any more than 3 miles on a treadmill.  We just suck it up, and run our little hearts out in the 10 degree weather.  Good times!
This is my mini-me drinking her Starbucks in her UA gear walking around Target ;)

Post-6 miler.  You can see the icicles on my hair and her eyelashes!  Eek!

At least we have beautiful sunrises to end our runs!

Valentine's Day

Obviously I stunk at taking pictures of our two Valentines this year, and in a strange twist of events, the second child is the only one who got a picture...probably because she is so freaking cute right now!

Snow :(

I think I am officially over winter.  We had such a mild start to our winter that we quickly became spoiled and forgot that "actual" winter would be coming in January, February, and maybe evven into March.  We have had a rough last couple of weeks, and I am SO ready for it to be gone!  Last week we had a lovely little snowstorm which left 9 tall inches of beautiful snow.  I loathe snow, so I did not do so well with it...even with the two extra snow days that came out of it! :)  Over the last five years I have learned to at least deal with it more and actually venture out in it, so the first day I decided to take the girls to the Y to swim.  Mommy never takes them, so I know they got a kick out of that!

On one of the three days we were actually in school last week, we had our Valentine's Party.  In conjunction with our party and our winter reading incentive, we did a book parade around the school. Students and teachers were asked to dress as a book character, and of course I went with something fun!

As I mentioned before, the weather has been awful and has made our training for our half marathon a little tricky.  I HATE the treadmill and will do all things to avoid it, so we have definitely been running in some less than favorable conditions, but it beats the treadmill any day! :)

And the most important thing that has happened lately is that our nephew turned one!!!  We cannot believe it's been a year since Baby Hudson came into our lives, and it has been SO fun watching this little man grow.  The unexpected snowstorm forced Jake & Megan to cancel the originally planned party on Super Bowl Sunday, but we celebrated a week later and had awesome weather as a bonus!  We were asked to dress in NFL apparel, and the party was all football (Packers) themed.  Megan did such a great job with all the cute details!

I suppose I'm going to add these chalkboard signs to my Laineybug collection becuase I kind of like the way it turned out!

Dad is the only one not looking a hot mess, haha!

Love my baby brother!

Not too often we get a picture of just the four of us anymore!

Twinning!

Sweet cousins...who look like siblings :)
It's been a crazy February already, and we have a lot more fun in store!  Loving life right now!

Daddy Daughter Dance 2015

Each year our local Y puts on a Daddy Daughter Dance for Valentine's Day.  Jovan has taken Lainey for the past two years, but this was the first year that he took Lilly too.  The evening started with a quiet dinner at home, and then their "date" rang the doorbell for them, arriving with flowers.  We took lots of pictures, and then I sent them off for an evening of twirling and screaming on the dance floor, haha!

As expected, they had an absolute blast with their daddy!  I'm so grateful for a man who is committed to showing his girls how a good, Godly man should treat them. :)
