Rough Week

This has been a crazy week in our house.  We recently started Lainey in swim lessons, dance, and tumbling, so that takes up three different nights in our week in addition to small group and the day-to-day responsibilities of cooking, cleaning, and lesson planning.  This past week we also got to throw in two nights of conferences for me in which I worked 13 hour days.  Needless to say, I was EXHAUSTED by the time Friday rolled around.  Luckily we had a staff development day Friday so we didn't have to teach all day after our lovely meetings with parents!

Besides being exhausted, Friday was a big day for us.  Our best friends here in Nebraska, Bryce and Tina,  had Match Day for residency placement.  Bryce is going into the field of pathology, and we were absolutely certain that they were going to be here for residency.  We were able to watch Match Day on a live feed, so we knew right when they did where Bryce had been placed.  Our worst fears came true, and we found out that Tina and Bryce will be moving to Denver for the next 4 years.  We are absolutely devastated, but we know God has a plan for them.  After LOTS of tears yesterday, we've been able to come up with several positives about the move----like the fact that we've never been to Denver, and that Jovan's region is Denver so he gets to travel there.  It's going to be hard to lose them for 4 years, but we're hopeful they will make the return home when it's over! :)

Lainey loves Tina and Bryce!  We're waiting to tell her about the move,,,not looking forward to that one!

And after a completely crazy week, I can look at the following pictures and realize how completely blessed my life is.  I am so thankful to have these girls!!!

Can't Believe It

So last night was a rough night at the Tosic house.  By rough I mean it was one of those nights that I wanted to cry, smile, and freeze life all at the same time.  Our sweet little barely three month old girl decided it was time to roll over from her back to front...multiple times!  Last weekend she really rolled from her stomach to her back.  That alone was enough for me to want to start crying...

Last night after Lainey went to tumbling, she was practicing on the living room floor with her daddy.  Lilly was laying on her back watching it all, and all of a sudden she was on her stomach.  After Jovan saying he didn't put her that way, I started freaking out a little bit.  We then decided to sit there and watch her, and she slowly did it over and over again across the floor.  How is this possible that our little baby girl is already rolling from her back to stomach and vice versa?!?!?!  I really can't believe it, and have decided she's going to be held A LOT this weekend while she is still my baby!

Three Months!

Three months!  Are you kidding me?!?!  We are officially not parents of a newborn anymore.  We've had such a fun time with Lilly this last month, and we know it only gets better from here!

  • We're guessing Lilly weighs somewhere around 13 pounds.  She's a healthy one just like her sister!
  • She is "talking" all the time!  It cracks us up.  She is such a sweet girl with such a laid back personality.  We love when she wakes up in the morning because we know it will just be solid smiles.
  • She is now sleeping in her pack and play in our room.  Yes...she is still in our room, and I really don't foresee her moving out for awhile.  I know it sounds crazy, but we aren't losing any sleep with her in there, she's not losing sleep, and it makes me feel better knowing she's right there.  She's been ready to go back to her crib for awhile, but I'm just not quite there yet!  Maybe next month...
  • Lilly goes to bed around 8:30 and sleeps until 6:30.  She would definitely sleep longer, but this is the schedule the poor girl has been thrown into!  We started swaddling her again this month, and that has really made a huge difference in her sleeping style.
  • Lilly drinks about 5-6oz. bottles a day.  She's still drinking my milk, but I'm not sure how much longer that will last!
  • Lilly is wearing size 2 diapers, mainly because that's what we had in the house when we ran out of 1's.  She still has 1's at school, but I think we will just buy 2's next time we have to buy them.  She's wearing 0-3 and 3-6 month clothes.
  • The biggest thing that has happened this month is she has started to roll over in this last week.  If we put her on her tummy, she just goes right to her back.  Bless her heart--we keep putting her on her tummy over and over to watch her roll. :)

We can't wait to spend another month watching you grow and turn into a little toddler!

Old

It's official...Lainey is old.  We try to stop her from growing, but it's just not working!  We've now officially started what is sure to be the first of many years of activities, activities, activities!  As of this week, our schedule will be swim lessons on Sundays, dance on Mondays, and tumbling on Wednesdays.  We'll be adding soccer on Saturdays here in a few weeks.  Insane, but I wouldn't have it any other way!  Looking forward to some fun times ahead!

And here is Lainey this morning hating my guts as I was trying to get a picture of her in her shirt for Dr. Seuss' birthday.  We had quite an adventure trying to make it last night.  Lainey was great, but Lilly was not so thrilled about having her hands painted when she was hungry and trying to patiently wait for a bottle.   We did get it done, though, and I must say I kind of love it! :)
