Race Season

For some reason, I thought it would be a good idea to run races 4 weekends in a row. It actually worked out quite well because I was training for my second half marathon as well. I spent the end of September and half of October racing my little booty off, and I culminated it with my big race this past Sunday. Still can't believe I am running...for fun...often, but it's happening and I'm not stopping for a bit! :)

Corporate Cup 10k
My running partner, Missy, heard me talking about this tank top and got it for me! She's the best!
Omaha Marathon 10k
Twinning for an early morning run
Color Fun Fest 5k with my mini running partner. She did awesome!
She ran at least 2 miles of this with a few walking breaks. I am so proud of this girl!
Race for the Cure--We did this one as a family. I did the 5k and Jovan and the girls did the 1 mile walk.
This race was the day after my 10 mile race, and I somehow ran my fastest time EVER! I don't think I could repeat this if I tried, but boy it sure felt good that morning!
Goof balls!

Looking miserable at about mile 11. I was SO over it at this point! It was NOT a good day for me.
Finally finished!
Another half in the books for us! I totally sucked it up for us, but we still managed to PR...barely!

I get to take a little break from running now and do it for fun. I'm looking forward to not feeling the training pressure, but I am already looking for the next race! My next challenge is an event called Trek up the Tower which is a race up the tallest building in Omaha. 40 flights of stairs...good grief! What am I thinking?!? Here's to new challenges and keeping up with my current ones! :)

Pumpkin Season

It's that time of year again! The time of year when we spend a ridiculously obscene amount on season passes to the pumpkin patch that will only be good for six weeks, ha! This year we made Monday nights "our thing", and that worked out really well. There were nights when I couldn't make it and Jovan and the girls would have a little Daddy/Daughter time. We love this place and as I told my mom, the memories made are totally worth the money spent!

Our freakishly tall girl
Sweet little woman

In front of the kids haunted house...I won't even go in this one ;)

They added a new ropes course this year. We loved it!

The thing I look forward to EVERY YEAR!
Can't go to Vala's and not take a picture in the giant chair

We're such nerds we even bought the refillable mug this year...

Only 316 days until we do it again!

Fall Catch Up

We've had a jam packed fall, so here is a glimpse in lots of pictures! :)

Favorite fish in the aquarium at the zoo
Zoo Day
Girls Night In--We watched Beauty and the Beast and made the "gray stuff"
Despite Lilly's face, it actually was delicious!

So many fun times, and so many more to come!

Trick or Treat 2015

Halloween is not my favorite holiday of the year, but I have started enjoying it a little more since having kids. We've had a blast trying to figure out costumes the past few years, and I enjoy the challenge, hehe! We had a fairly uneventful Halloween this year spent at the pumpkin patch and then trick or treating with family and friends.

4th and 5th grade teachers

Matchy matchy cousins
Our little nerdy family
And with our little addition, Yoda
For the past two years we've trick or treated with our good friends, the Crooms. We didn't stay out too late because 3 out of 4 adults had to run a half marathon the next morning, but we sure did enjoy our time together!
Now to figure out what to be next year...

Walking in Memphis

We moved to Omaha five years ago this past July. Some days it seems like we just left, and other days it feels like we've lived here forever. Hardest decision we've ever made, but definitely the best. Memphis will always hold a special place in our hearts, and it was high time we got back for a visit...if only for a few days. We had a whirlwind weekend and did not get to see nearly everyone or everything we wanted to, but we made the most out of the time we did have!

On our way!
This was definitely a sight for sore eyes!
Our first day in town we headed to get donuts at one of our favorite places and then headed downtown to The Peabody. We wanted to do a few "touristy" things while we were in town, and we thought the girls would love this. Of course, they did! They got front row seats and loved seeing the ducks' house on the rooftop.

Waiting for the ducks

After The Peabody we headed to St. Jude to have lunch with our friend Patti and visit Jovan's old co-workers. This was a very successful trip because it just so happened that Justin Timberlake was also there when we were. Yes, he was two feet away from me. No, I did not speak to him. He was on a tour that was being videoed and photographed with Marc Gasol, Mike Connely, and several patients. Couldn't bring myself to be psycho fan in that situation, haha!

When we left St. Jude we headed to meet some friends at the zoo. Omaha has an amazing zoo, so people were confused as to why we were wasting time at the Memphis Zoo, but I had to argue that the Memphis Zoo is pretty amazing too! We had a blast! That evening we had dinner with Jovan's mom, and then we spent the night over at Jovan's best friend's parents' house catching up with them and giving them a glimpse into the life of the crazy Tosic girls!

Saturday I got up and ran all around Collierville. It was so weird to run in a place that I never even had the slightest thought of running in 5 years ago! We had BBQ for lunch, and then we headed around town to run some errands. Memphis was playing the football game of the year, and it was so fun to see everyone all excited about that! We still supported our Huskers though!

Visiting Pop's gravesite
That night we got to spend some time with our dear friends the Bradshaws. It was so good to just sit and catch up! Made me miss our time there for sure!

This banana pudding is my most favorite thing in the world. Best part of my trip!

On our last day we met up with my boy bestie and his sweet little family. That did my soul good! We were also fortunate to run into a few of Jovan's friends in mid town as well, so we got very lucky!

Lily and Lilly--These sweet girls were born only a week apart. Can't believe they are almost 4!

Lainey wanted us to take a "silly" picture, so here we are looking absolutely ridiculous!
After lunch we headed out of town. We were compelled to stop by the new Bass Pro Shop on our way out, and no trip to BPS is complete without a little shooting practice! We've been known to spend several dollars in quarters doing this, hehe!
We had such a great time, and we were definitely convicted about our lack of visiting. We did not get to see nearly everyone we would have liked to, and we will definitely schedule more time on the return trip. We will be back sooner than later, M-Town!
