Randomness (lengthy post)

So life around here has been CRAZY to put it mildly.  My brother is getting married in 3 days, and to say we are all a little bit stressed would be the understatement of the year.  Every weekend for the past month has been filled with some sort of wedding obligation, and every free moment has been spent doing something wedding related.  I cannot believe it is already here, and I really cannot wait to see how it all turns out!

Anyways...amongst the wedding chaos, I'm trying to end my first year in public school!  Boy, has this year been a wild adventure!  This week marks the one year anniversary since I was hired on at Parkview.  It is insane to think about the whirlwind of a year we've had (more on that later!).  The picture below is a little insight into what our week has been like.  We are in true survival mode and doing anything we can to make it through this last week! :)  My friend Randi co-teaches with me, so I have the pleasure of having her expertise in my classroom during math and writing.  We make a great team, but putting us together also leads to things like wearing Mickey Mouse ears during writing, hitting beach balls at the kids and scaring the crap out of them while they are so diligently concentrating on their fiction stories, and openly discussing in front of our students what time we are going to get pedicuares and how desperately they are needed, ha!

Me and my friend Randi (obviously I was distracted by one of my students!)

The weather has started getting nice here too, so Lainey has had the opportunity to run around in the sprinklers with her friends.  I love this girl!!

She is the youngest in the neighborhood, and she has all the "big kids" following her around like she is the queen.  It is hilarious!  I am starting to dread coming home because I know within 15 minutes the doorbell will be ringing.  I know it's a blessing, but seeing as she is 3 and cannot go play by herself with the older kids, it gets a little exhausting for Jovan and me!  Here's another picture because she's  just that stinkin cute!

And as for the hubs and me, we actually got to go on a date last night!  One of our favorite bands is the Foo Fighters.  Both of us have been in love with them FOREVER and seen them in concert several times, and it was one of those initial things you find out early in dating and makes you like that person that much more. :)  We had to cross the river into Council Bluffs, IA.  For those of you in Memphis, this would be the equivalent of West Memphis...phenomenal people watching and all!  We had an AMAZING time, and the Foo put on yet another memorable show.  Yay for date nights!!!  Soon enough my brother and his new wife will live in Omaha, so this whole "date night" concept may actually get to be a habit!

Love this guy! :)

Seeing as I have an assignment due for a class, and wedding packing to do, I should cut this off now!  Wedding weekend post soon!!!
