Birthday Fun

We celebrated my friend Kyleen's birthday this weekend.  This whole week has been quite exciting because it started with her finally getting engaged!  We've been waiting for quite some time for this to happen, so we were super excited when we finally got the call!  Now we begin our "sweating for the wedding" for our dresses next May!
We're such dorks!

After the exciting engagement annoucement, we celebrated her birthday.  For her birthday she wanted to go to this bar in town, Rednecks.  They have line dancing lessons for an hour on Friday nights, and then the rest of the night is spent showing off what you learned.  I have never been to quite an establishment, and quite frankly I was a little terrified.  Line dancing is not exactly my cup of tea...I'm more the booty shaking type. ;)  But this is what Kyleen wanted to do, so we went with smiles and boots on!
Ready to go, and I was already sweating!  This would be nothing compared to how much I would sweat line dancing!

No clue what dance we're doing here, but it was fun!

This place definitely provided us with some amazing people watching.  You had your real cowboys, your wannabe cowboys, and everything inbetween.  The crowd was also a lot more diverse than I thought it would be.  At one point this guy came and asked me to dance.  He was a friend of one of our friends with us and a trainer at another Y, so I said yes and nervously went out on the floor.  It was a blast!  I had no idea what I was doing, but he did and just literally spun me around the dance floor for the entire song.  He dipped me three times where my feet came off the ground.  I was amazed at how he could dip me back and bring me up so quickly and with so much ease.  This country dancing thing is no joke!  I was exhausted after that one spin on the dance floor, and we watched people out there all night.

Out there and my face after!
They played country songs obviously for most of the night, but they did throw in a few hip hop songs as well.  Naturally this is where we got out on the floor and let them know how it was done, ha!  Such an unexpectedly fun night!  Contrary to our first thoughts, we are definitely going back there again!  Yeehaw!
