Happy 4th of July!

My favorite time of year has come and gone again.  We had a great 4th of July holiday, and I am already looking forward to next year.  Of course the girls had a week's worth of patriotic outfits...some of which we didn't even get to wear.  I thought last year was the last year of matching outfits, but I managed to get one more year!  WOOHOO!!  Here's to keeping my babies young! ;-)

The morning of the 4th was spent like any other morning...starting at the gym.  I started my day with BODYPUMP and Kickboxing.  Great way to start the day and made me feel a little better about the 1000s of calories I would consume later in the day, ha!
These are my friends Alica and Rebecca.  Rebecca teaches like every type of class imaginable and is AMAZING!!! I am seriously going to cry when school starts and I can't make her classes anymore. :(

I have been going to the Ralston Independence Day Parade for like 24 of the 31 years of my life.  For as long as I can remember, I have watched this parade and just admired the "Stepperettes".  I always said that if I had daughters and we lived in Omaha someday that they would be Stepperettes, and now Lainey is living out that dream of mine.  She's the cutest baton twirler around!  I was so stinking proud of this girl watching her do her thing in the parade!

Our little Stepper-ette
This parade is a tradition in our family, and although it's not much to write home about, I can't imagine a 4th of July without it!  It is so unbelievably crowded, and you have to get your spot early!  Jovan went down two days before to stake out our place, haha!  We had amazing weather this year and came home with more candy than Halloween! ;-)

After the parade we went over to my dad's friend's house to swim and then back to our neighborhood for our annual bloack party.  It's always good to catch up with neighbors!

After our block party we headed back out to watch fireworks.  The kids got to play around and light off fireworks, and we enjoyed a beautiful evening with amazing fireworks!  Another incredible independence day in the books!
